A fusion of kinetic choreography with narrative storytelling starring Axel Nu and Andrew Lyle-Pinnock. Selected for the British Urban Film Festival in the 'Arthouse' category. A Supple Nam/Johan Nayar Film which was also edited by Johan Nayar.
Set in a urban environment, Loki, the God of Mischief, descends to play his games. He manifests himself in a human form during a fight between two men, portrayed by the talented Axel Nu & Andrew Lyle-Pinnock. Loki starts to change the dynamic of the fight from something aggressive to something more surreal. The film explores physical movement in through a unique lens with an equally distinctive soundtrack.
This is the first collaboration between Supple and Johan which is a visceral, visual and sonic experience. Supple has worked with many acts as a choreographer including names such as the Chemical Brothers. He met Johan through a mutual friend and they decided to co-direct a short film together. It fused Supple's choreography skills with a loosely narratives storyline. Loki's game is the result.

"Great work all round by Johan Nayar and his team. Very atmospheric and captured the strange and often surreal existence of a lockdown. Also, a nice twist at the end - an important element in short films that worked really well. Awesome job." - Theo Davies, director of Wish Man (2019) “Online Order” is a wonderful example of how creativity thrives within a set of constraints. In a world interconnected by the internet, it is possible for a cast and crew of four individuals from Poland, the United Kingdom and Venezuela to come together to produce a film shot entirely using bedrooms, living rooms and a roof. This project highlights humanity’s power to overcome any challenge and inclination, no matter the circumstances, to create.Listen to the main song on the soundtrack here:
The idea for The Trouble with Gurus came during my time in Madrid. I met with a fellow filmmaker called Xavier Keogh, and we decided to write a short film with the resources we had available to us. We brought in two actors. Luis David Rodriguez and Flor Restom to play the roles of Sam and Sophia. And I played Guru Shak myself. This is the story we came up with.
We have also won ourselves an honourable mention at the the London Worldwide International Comedy Film Festival.
